Activist.

Am I an activist? Yes.

What kind of activist? Let’s talk about it in a minute. But first, a little history. Not all activists do dissent in the same way.

Is an activist whose intense despair, that I hope to god I never know, and ardent desire to wake people up, immolates himself?

Is an activist one who registers voters in zones of danger that result, as it did for Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner, in murder?

Or is an activist the postcard writer? Or the citizen who attends rallies with clear and provocative placards?
